A gnarled, spiny-podded vine root known dockside as "Jolt of Strength," carried by many an old salt who wanted his sea legs — and everything else — standing firm through a long voyage.
Traditional use: Monkey Comb root (Pithecoctenium echinatum) is traditionally used in Caribbean folk herbalism as a men's vitality tonic to support stamina, circulation and general strength.
How it's brewed: boil a tablespoon of the root in a litre of spring water for 20 minutes, steep 10 minutes, strain, and drink two cups daily (morning and evening). The root can be re-boiled up to four times.
This product is a traditional herbal item and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Always consult a healthcare professional before use, particularly if pregnant, breastfeeding, or on medication.
Note to crew: we've not yet found a clean, unbranded photograph of the Monkey Comb root itself — this listing's image is flagged for manual review and replacement.
Ship's Terms: Shipments within the U.K sail via Royal Mail Tracked 48. Shipments beyond our shores sail via Royal Mail® International Tracked, 3-6 days to port. Take heed: this crew sails from the U.K. Any cargo bound for foreign shores may be boarded by customs and charged duties or taxes on arrival — that toll be yours to pay, not ours. Chart your own country's import rules via the Department for International Trade before ye order. On overcharges: should your bank statement show a sum heavier than the price at the till, know this be no trickery — the Pound often outweighs the Dollar and other currencies, so what lands on your statement may run higher than what you saw at checkout. Our thanks for your understanding, shipmate. Every delivery must be signed for upon arrival. No refunds be given once the goods have set sail.
