Dried Elderberries (Eldertonic)

Gathered from the hedgerows of Europe each autumn, elderberries have long been dried and stored in the ship's chest for the winter crossing.

Traditional use: Dried elderberries (Sambucus nigra) are traditionally used in folk herbalism to support the immune system and respiratory health through the colder months.

How it's brewed: Boil 2 cups of spring water and add 1½ tablespoons of dried elderberries. Simmer for about 15 minutes, allow to cool, strain and drink twice daily — 1 cup in the morning and 1 cup before bed.
