Chanca Piedra (Stone Breaker Herb)

Down in the tropics, past where the mangroves choke the rivers, grows a low green weed the local healers call Chanca Piedra — "the stone breaker." Sailors who'd taken on too much salt and grog swore by a bitter brew of it to keep their insides clear on the long crossing.

Traditional use: Chanca Piedra (Phyllanthus niruri) has long been used in folk herbalism to support urinary comfort, liver function and general digestion. It is traditionally taken mixed with a splash of key lime juice.

How it's brewed: boil the dried herb in spring water, strain, and drink as a daily tonic.
